In 2005, Tagum Cooperative took a significant step by launching the Himsug Pamilya Program (HPP) to protect the health of its members. Over the years, what started with around 20,000 members expanded to almost 129,000 members.

The Himsug Pamilya Program (HPP) reflects the Tagum Cooperative’s commitment to the well-being of its members. All regular members between 18 to 65 years old are automatically enrolled, excluding Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and medical frontlines. Participation in HPP is voluntary for associate members and the youth cooperative’s members.

At the core of HPP is Hospitalization Insurance, which provides financial support during medical emergencies. Members pay an annual premium of Php 635.00, ensuring insurance coverage of Php 5,000.00 per year. This insurance covers in-patient hospitalizations, alleviating the financial strain during such critical times. Additionally, members can claim a reimbursement for prescribed medicines during their hospital stay, except for take-home medications.

Beyond insurance coverage, the HPP encourages proactive healthcare by offering three consultations per year for members. Moreover, Tagum Cooperative is committed to the overall well-being of families by extending free consultations to their declared dependents of members.

For female members embarking on motherhood, the program provides a unique benefit. Upon their first pregnancy, they are entitled to the Maternal Health Care Benefit, a sum of Php 3,000.00, in lieu of the Hospitalization Insurance.

Tagum Cooperative has established vital partnerships with healthcare service providers, ensuring access to essential medical services for the members. Accredited medical professionals, hospitals, and laboratories are strategically located across various cities wherein Tagum Cooperative also has its branches and satellite offices, including Tagum, Panabo, Digos, San Francisco, Carmen, and Sto. Tomas, Davao, Malita, Kidapawan, Nabunturan, General Santos, Valencia, Koronadal, Samal, and Gingoog.
The Himsug Pamilya Program signified Tagum Cooperative’s dedication to the overall well-being of its members. By providing a comprehensive healthcare and insurance package, Tagum Cooperative ensures the health and security of its members while fostering a sense of community and support. Yna Gracelle J. Amores
