What is Tagum Cooperative?

Tagum Cooperative is a savings and credit cooperative duly established in 1967 by the Mary Knoll Fathers. From our humble beginnings, Tagum Cooperative has evolved into a multi-billion enterprise with multiple awards and recognitions from local and national entities.

What are the qualifications to become a member?

a.The membership in Tagum Cooperative is open to any natural person who is a resident of the Philippines, Filipino citizens and of legal age.

b.In addition thereto, the prospective member must:

(1)Possess a common bond of membership;
(2)Pledge to undertake the duties and responsibilities of membership;
(3)Reside in the area of operation as defined and provided for under Article III of the Articles of Cooperation;
(4)Complete the prescribed pre-membership cooperative education program;
(5)Complete the payment of the prescribed minimum share capital; and
(6)Use or anticipate to use the services of Tagum Cooperative more particularly savings and lending and other services related thereto.

What are the requirements upon membership?

After attending the Pre-Membership Orientation (PMO), the following must be submitted:

  • Membership Application Form
  • 2 pcs. 2×2 recent colored ID picture
  • 1 photocopy of valid ID
  • At least Php 2,985.00 membership fee
What are the types of membership?

Regular member – is one who must possess all the qualifications but none of the disqualifications for membership, and is entitled to all rights and privileges of membership. Regular members are those who are able to reach the desired share capital within two (2) years of membership.

 

Associate member – is one who is of legal age, and not within the common bond of membership, but has no right to vote nor be voted upon. Nonetheless, he shall be entitled to all other rights and privileges, provided in the TC By-Laws, and the policies promulgated by the Board of Directors and/or the General Assembly. (Article II, Section 1a of TC By-Laws)

 

Associate Member- SCG

Associate Member – SCG are members who have not yet complied the minimum requirement of a Regular Member however, intends to convert their membership status to Regular Member within or after two (2) years from the date of membership.

 

Associate Member – Online Membership

Associate Member – Online are members who intend to patronize savings products of Tagum Cooperative (TC) however, they are not present in the TC area of operation at the time of membership and that they have submitted their application through online facility via email.

 

 

Associate Member – FuneCare / CAC

Associate Member under FuneCare and CAC are members whose primary purpose of membership is to avail ancillary services of Tagum Cooperative such as Insurance Products and FuneCare Services.

 

Associate Member – PASADA

Associate Member – PASADA are members who are licensed drivers and whose primary purpose of membership upon application is to patronize savings through Pabilisang Savings Sa Mga Driver Advocacy (PASADA)

 

Associate Member – Golden Hearts

Associate Member – Golden Hearts are members aged 65 years old and above upon membership. Members in this category are no longer qualified to become Regular Members of the cooperative.

What is a Share Capital?

Share Capital is the member’s investment to Tagum Cooperative. It cannot be withdrawn unless membership is terminated. Share capital may be used as a collateral for some loan products.

How much is our required share capital?

Members are required to reach a minimum of Php 8, 000.00 share capital within two (2) years of membership.

What is a Regular Savings?

Regular Savings is the member’s savings account with required maintaining balance of Php. 500.00. Members must have atleast P1,000.00 regular deposit balance to gain interest.

What are Special Savings Products?

Tagum Cooperative has designed special savings products to suit our member’s needs. We also give value to our beloved overseas Filipino workers and families as we developed the TC Overseas Filipinos and Families WEalth Building (TC OFFWEB) products: Heroes Grow Installment Savings for Tomorrow (GIFT) and TC Overseas Pinoy Premium Savings (TCOPPS).

How to avail of our loan products?

Only Tagum Cooperative members may avail of our loan products. Members are required to attend the Savings and Loan Seminar / Loan Briefing before availing any of our loan products. This training is required as we emphasize the responsibilities of members availing of our loan products.

What is our Mortuary Program?

Tagum Cooperative’s Mortuary Program provides funeral benefits to deceased members with an affordable annual premium of Php 850.00.

What benefits can the bereaved family’s avail of?

If the deceased member is covered by our mortuary program, her / his beneficiaries may receive Php 100,000.00 for natural death and Php 200,000.00 for accidental death. Related documents must be completely submitted to process the mortuary claim.

What is Himsug Pamilya Program (HPP)?

The Himsug Pamilya Program (HPP) is an insurance program which provides medical benefits and discounts to members with an annual premium of Php 635.00.

Does Tagum Coop offer other insurance products?

Yes, Tagum Coop offers several life and non-life insurances. For more details, please visit our Coop Assurance Center (CAC).

What are other services/businesses offered by Tagum Coop?

In 2016, Tagum Cooperative launched its 4th business line tagged as “Ancillary Services” featuring the very affordable Commercial Spaces located along Dalisay Road, Magugpo West, Tagum City.
