Tagum Cooperative’s Human Resource Manager Gennivie O. Avelino and Election Committee Secretary Romela T. Pangandoyon flew to Bangkok, Thailand, to join several passionate credit union professionals across countries at the 38th Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU) Development Education Workshop (DEW), held from February 22, 2025 to March 1, 2025.

Notable highlights from the workshop include emphasis on personal leadership development and financial life planning as participants engaged in activities designed to beef up their presentation skills and to shift their approach from being product vendors into trusted financial advisors.
In sync with the celebration of Women’s Month, one remarkable topic also discussed was empowering women to build confidence, addressing the confidence gap between women and men.
As a proud ACCU member, Tagum Cooperative took the opportunity to take part in this year’s prestigious event, thereby living its commitment to excellence and leadership in the Cooperative community.
The workshop enabled participants to immerse themselves in week-long learning sessions and collaboration. During the entire workshop, attendees discussed the foundational principles of the credit union movement and explored strategies to enhance community impact and look for viable solutions for sustainable development.

Other than the in-depth sessions and discussions, participants took opportunities to network with other credit union professionals, where they shared experiences, discussed challenges, and explored collaborative opportunities.
By taking part in this kind of international workshop, Tagum Cooperative is displaying its dedication to continuous development and innovation, which, in return, will ripple into excellence in serving and empowering its members and staying ahead of the latest developments in the cooperative industry.
